Early Life and Football Career
John David Washington was born on July 28, 1984, in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is the son of renowned actor Denzel Washington and actress Pauletta Washington. Growing up, he showed a keen interest in both sports and acting.
Washington pursued a career in football and played as a running back at Morehouse College. After college, he signed with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2006 and later joined the United Football League.
Transition to Acting
