Chuck Connors was born Kevin Joseph Aloysius Connors on April 10, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York, USA. He was the eldest of two children born to Albanian immigrants Marcella and Allan Connors. Raised during the Great Depression, Connors excelled in sports, earning a scholarship to Adelphi Academy, a preparatory school in Brooklyn.
Sports Career
Chuck Connors was a gifted athlete, playing both professional basketball and baseball. He played for the Boston Celtics in the Basketball Association of America (now the NBA) during the 1946-47 season. After his time in basketball, Connors switched to baseball, playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs in Major League Baseball.
